3.0 Earthquake Registered near Bulgaria's Capital

A 3.0 point magnitude on the Richter scale earthquake has been registered in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

The Geophysical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) reports the jolt had been registered at around 22:53 pm Sunday evening at a depth of 15 km.

The epicenter was 50 km north of Sofia, near the village of Zverino.

No injuries or material damage have been reported.
