By Greek Reporter.

With unemployment ranging from 35 to 50% in many occupations, more and more city residents in Greece are choosing to go to Bulgaria to find a job.

According to data, illegal employment is at high levels, while unemployment has reached 35% and in many areas more than 50%.

According to dramini.gr, many residents from Drama, northern Greece, are seriously thinking of migrating, especially to Germany and to other EU countries.

The harsh reality has set a peculiar status of employment in Drama for many workers in this city who are forced to relocate to Bulgaria (mainly in the south of the country) and set up their own businesses.

The setup of a business in another area requires specialized personnel, and several employees had to choose either to follow their employer to Bulgaria or to be unemployed in Greece.

The wages for Greeks working in Bulgaria reach 800 to 1,150 EUR. This can explain the fact that many residents of Drama spurred by unemployment have moved to Bulgaria.
