The Chinese government is warmly disposed towards Bulgaria, but both countries view their interaction in the framework of their pragmatic interests, said Bulgarian Deputy-PM Daniela Bobeva.

Bobeva is on an official cabinet delegation to China led by PM Plamen Oresharski, which is taking part in the Annual Meeting of the New Champions, aka The Summer Davos, held in Delian.

"We have a tradition of good trade and economic relations," said Bobeva for BGNES.

"But China also harbors a sentimental sympathy for Bulgaria. Chinese PMĀ Li Keqiang said: "I see Bulgaria as the country of roses"," added she.

"However, whether Bulgaria will turn into a place for Chinese investments depends on the interests of our countries," said the Bulgarian Vice-PM in charge of economic affairs.

Bobeva stressed that Li Keqiang strongly stressed the principle of pragmatism in bilateral relations.

"We simply have no time to discuss theoretical questions. We are saying who can do what and we are moving ahead," added she.

Tuesday Bobeva and PM Plamen Oresharski, who is at the helm of the Bulgarian delegation to Delian, revealed that there are strong Chinese interests for invesment in Bulgaria, in particular in infrastructure.
