Light Earthquake Registered in SW Bulgaria

A 3.1 point magnitude on the Richter scale earthquake has been registered near the southwestern Bulgarian town of Satovcha in the Blagoevgrad region.

The Geophysical Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) reports the jolt had been registered at around 21:08 pm Sunday evening at a depth of 0.6 km.

The epicenter was 126 km southeast of the capital Sofia

No injuries or material damage have been reported so far.

The tremor has been felt in the village of Pletena, close to the epicenter.
