InvestBulgaria Agency CEO Borislav Stefanov has resigned Tuesday, listing the grounds for his decision on Facebook.

The news was reported by DarikFinance.bg.

The site OFFNews reports that the Agency and the Economy and Energy Ministry, which has the authority over it, are yet to confirm the information.

Stefanov, who was appointed at the post by the government of the center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, in 2009, writes he made the decision because of lack of communication with the current, Socialist-led government of Prime Minister, Plamen Oresharski.

"For three months now, I have not met with anyone from the Cabinet "Oresharski" to discuss investments. Despite the crisis we managed to attract during my term some new and important investors in outsourcing and the automobile industry, while existing ones in the IT sector, the chemical, food, textile and other industries announced plans of expanding their activities," his post reads.

According to him, all investment plans depend on the political situation regardless of the names of the ruling parties or the Prime Minister because it is directly connected to the stability of the business climate and to the efforts to reduce corruption practices.

The Economy and Energy Ministry's press office told OFFNews that Stefanov is still at the post and has not been officially released from his duties.
