Ex Bulgarian PM Debuts as Professional Footballer

Former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has made already his debut as professional football player, after recently enlisting as such.

Borisov's professional B-division team Vitosha Bistritsa, known also as "the Tigers," played Sunday evening against "Rakovski 2011." The game, held at the "Locomotive" stadium in the capital Sofia, ended with a 0:0 tie.

It was a match from the fourth round in the B-division.

The former PM and leader of the opposition, center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, is a striker for the "Tigers." He went on the field since the very beginning of the game and played until minute 54.

At the age of 54, he is the oldest professional footballer in the history of the sport in Bulgaria.
