Expendables 3 Plot Synopsis Revealed as Shooting Starts in Bulgaria

Plot details for star-packed action move Expendables 3 were revealed a day after filming began on the movie in Bulgaria.

The plot synopsis notes, “Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought."

It continues, “Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables – but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy.”

The synopsis then concludes, “The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.”

Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson,Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Victor Ortiz and Kellan Lutzhave been confirmed for the movie.

The Expendables 3 is being produced by Nu Image and Millennium Films and Lionsgate will release it on August 15, 2014. Patrick Hughes, who made his directorial debut with the 2010 Aussie western Red Hill, is serving as director on the project.
