Gibson, Banderas Confirmed for Bulgaria-Shot Expendables 3

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that Mel Gibson is to play the villain in the upcoming Expendables threequel that is to be shot in Bulgaria starting August 19.

Antonio Banderas, whom Stallone described in an announcement as “a consummate actor and a gentleman,” has been also confirmed for Expendables 3. "Expendables 3" will reunite Stallone and Banderas on-screen for the first time since 1995's "Assassins."

Earlier this week the news broke that Bruce Willis was out of Expendables 3 and that Harrison Ford had been recruited to replace him. Willis was reportedly negotiating over a four day shoot in Bulgaria and refused the offer from Stallone and co. of  USD 3 M, demanding USD 4 M instead.

The movie’s cast cast is expected to include Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Milla Jovovich, Mel Gibson, Jackie Chan, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Wesley Snipes, among others.

Patrick Hughes is directing the film, which has a release date in August 2014.
