New Management Team Appointed for Bulgaria’s Globul

Stein-Erik Vellan, who was named CEO of Telenor recently acquired Bulgarian operation, Globul, has introduced the new top management appointments, the company announced.

The Norwegian incumbent in April agreed to buy Globul and retailer Germanos from Greece's OTE for EUR 717 M.

Globul & Germanos were consolidated in the Telenor Group on August 1, 2013.

Irina Vasilevska will continue to be Globul & Germanos Legal Affairs and Protected Information Department Manager, Angelina Liakova remains the company Regulatory Department Manager.

Boris Tachev will remain Globul & Germanos Human Resources Director and Yassen Guev will continue as Corporate Affairs Director of the company.

Terje Borge will be the new Chief Financial Officer of the company. Over the past three years Tеrje has held the position of Chief Financial Officer at DiGi - Malaysia where Telenor Group has 49% ownership.

Sasa Filipovic is now Chief Commercial Officer. Sasa has more than 17 years of experience in the mobile industry. He previously served as Telenor Serbia’s Director of Consumer Marketing.

Globul’s new Chief Technical Officer is Atiq Ahmad. Before joining the top management team of Globul & Germanos, Atiq held the position of Chief Technology Officer in Telenor Montenegro.

Brad Byblow is the new Chief Marketing Officer. Brad comes from Telenor Montenegro, where he held the positions Chief Marketing Officer (2012-2013) and Business Segment Director (2010-2012). Bjorn Rakkenes is the new Procurement & Logistics Director. Bjorn has been part of the Telenor Group team since 2001, holding various positions in the area of procurement, logistics, service quality and vendors and others.

Vladimir Radojicic is appointed Executive Network Engineering Director. Vladimir has 15 years of telecom experience and comes from Telenor Serbia, where he was Technology Implementation Director for almost six years. 

Torstein Pedersen comes to Globul & Germanos as Chief Strategy Officer. Torstein has more than 20 years of international experience in the telecoms industry. He comes from the position as Vice President Strategy and Business Development in Telenor Region Europe.

Before being named CEO of Telenor recently acquired Bulgarian operation, Globul, Stein-Erik Vellan was head of mobile at Telenor Norway. He had previously served as CEO of Telenor Serbia and managing director at the company's Indian unit Uninor.

According to Telenor, Globul claims a 36% share of Bulgaria's mobile market, its subscriber base numbering 4.6 million at the end of last year. Globul and Germanos together generated EUR 378 M in revenues in 2012 and EBITDA of EUR 135 M.

In Central and Eastern Europe, Telenor Group is currently present in Hungary, Serbia and Montenegro.
