4 Al Qaeda Suspects Killed by US Drone Strike in Yemen – Report

A US drone strike killed at least four suspected Al-Qaeda militants in Yemen early on Tuesday, according to tribal sources.

The attack took place in the province of Marib in the east of the country. It came following a US warning of a possible major militant attack in the region.

Among those killed was one of 25 Al-Qaeda operatives listed late on Monday by the Yemeni authorities as among those plotting attacks to coincide with the ending of the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan later this week, international media report.

It has been reported that intercepted conversations between two senior Al-Qaeda figures prompted Sunday's closure of many American embassies abroad.
