The investigation of the actions of Bulgarian police in the stormy night July 23, when protesters beseiged Parliament, will be ready with results in September.

This was announced by Bulgarian Minister of Interior Tsvetlin Yovchev, who said that all efforts will be made to determine whether there were any cases of unwarranted police brutality.

That night, police clashed with protesters who had for hours blockaded Parliament, with 109 MPs, employees and journalists inside.

Violence erupted when police tried to evacuate part of those inside using a bus, which was on its part blocked by protesters, who started pelting stones at it.

In the interview Saturday, Yovchev once again defended the decision with the bus evacuation, saying the police believed the protesters in the way of the bus were peaceful.
