Bulgaria Declares Code Yellow over Sizzling Heat

Code yellow for potentially dangerous weather has been declared Sunday over much of the territory of Bulgaria due to exceptionally hot weather.

The warning covers five of Bulgaria's 27 regions, all of them located in the Northern and South-Western parts of the country.

Temperatures in most of the lowlands of the country are expected to reach 35-38 degrees Celsius, warned the national weather service.

People are cautioned to not go out around noon and in the afternoon, when possible.
