Bulgarian PM Plamen Oresharski has appointed Vasil Marinov an Plamen Angelov Deputy Ministers of Interior.

The decision was taken at a cabinet sittin Wednesday, just after weeks long anti-government protests turned violent overnight, when police clashed with protesters during a prolonged blockae of parliament.

Vasil Marinov has a career in Bulgaria's security services, including the State Agency for National Security (DANS).

He last served as security adviser to Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev.

Bulgaria's Minister of Interior Tsvetlin Yovchev has served as DANS director and Plevneliev's chief of cabinet, until resigning in April, just ahead of May 12 snap elections.

During ongoing protests, Plevneliev has argued that a resignation of PM Plamen Oresharski's cabinet would be better for the country.

The other vice-minister appointee, Plamen Angelov, has a career of a legal expert within the Ministry of Interior.
