Serbian coach Slavisa Jokanovic has been named as the new coach of Bulgarian giants Levski Sofia.

The new Levski boss is expected to sign a one-year contract, according to Bulgarian media.

The former Yugoslav international will succeed Nikolay Mitov, who was fired from the club following its shocking defeat at the hands of Kazakhstan’s Irtysh Pavlodar in the forst qualifying round of Europa League.

Jokanovic had a successful stay as coach of Partizan Belgrade between 2007 and 2009, leading the club to two doubles. In 2012, he took over at the helm of Muangthong United, leading the club to the third Thai Premier League title in its history.
