Bulgaria’s Dimitrov Fails to Reach Final in Bastad

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov was narrowly defeated by Spain's Fernando Verdasco on Saturday and failed to reach the final of the SkiStar Swedish Open in Bastad.

8th seed Fernando Verdasco defeated 5th seed Grigor Dimitrov in 3 gruelling sets 7-6, 5-7, 7-5.

Verdasco squandered a service-break lead in the final set of his semifinal match Saturday, but he managed to recover and break Dimitrov's serve for the fourth time to clinch the victory.

The Madrid native will face Argentina's Carlos Berlocq to play for the title.
