MPs from Bulgaria's former ruling GERB party have filed a plea with the Constitutional Court challenging the constitutiuonality of Parliament's dismissal of National Health Insurance Fund director Plamen Tsekov.

Tsekov, a former GERB MP elected to the position by Bulgaria's last Parliament, was voted down last week due to an alleged poor management of funds.

Parliament is already considering a replacement to chair the Health Insurance Fund (NZOK).

GERB's grounds to believe the matter falls within the judiciary competence of the Constitutional Court were not made clear.
