Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has conducted a series of phone conversations with foreign counterparts regarding the military deposition of Egypt president Mohammed Morsi.

Saturday the Anatolian Agency quotes diplomatic sources saying Davutoglu discussed with other Foreign Minister ongoing bloody clashes in Egypt between supporters and opposers of Morsi.

According to the sources, the Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister talked to US Secretary of State John Kerry and Qatar Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah.

Davutoglu called for the consideration of measures that can be taken to respect the will of Egypt's people and democratic legitimacy in the country.

On his part, Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed reservations about the military takeover in Egypt, saying that Morsi was the democratically elected leader of Egypt.
