Bulgaria's Oresharski Announces 3rd Deputy PM

Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oreshrski has announced the nomination of a third deputy PM, who will be in charge of economy and investments in the Cabinet.

His personal nomination is Daniela Bobeva, who will be responsible for coordinating the economic policies.

Bobeva was born on 8 September 1958 in the capital Sofia. She is a doctor of science, an economist and member of the Union of Free Democrats, SSD.

Bobeva graduated from the University of National and World Economy with a degree in Political economy, and has worked in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, OCDE, and in the Social Ministry.

Bobeva has been a vice-President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, BSTDB, a director of the Economy Program at the Center for Study of Democracy, a head of the Directorate for International Relations and European Integration at the Bulgarian National Bank, BNB.

Bobeva assumed the office of Trade Minister in the interim government of Stefan Sofiyanski in 1997, before becoming one of the founders of SSD in 2001.

She once again headed the International relations and European Integration at BNB in 2003-2007.

Bobeva is an expert at the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and a head of the “Levski sport” foundation.

Oresharski is to present Bobeva's nomination to Parliament on Wednesday.
