Boyko Borisov, former Prime Minister and leader of center-right party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, has left the extraordinary sitting of the Consultative Council on National Security (KSNS) after a clash with nationalist leader Volen Siderov.

After leaving the KSNS sitting taking place at the President's Office, Borisov made clear that he had a European People's Party (EPP) summit to attend in Vienna, adding that the scandalous behavior of nationalist leader Volen Siderov had left him no reason to attend the sitting.

"I have a normal sense of statehood. I cannot sit and watch the Interior Minister, the Chair of the State Agency for National Security (DANS), cringe and listen to Volen Siderov ruining a sitting of KSNS," he stated.

Borisov argued that the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the ethnic Turkish party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) were to blame for Siderov's move because they kept tolerating him.

He suggested that the events of the past 10 days in the country made him think that BSP, DPS and Ataka were deliberately seeking to lose power as they kept making blunders.

Borisov went on to suggest that the three parties had decided that GERB could only be dealt with through off-beat methods.

"What does "offbeat methods" mean to you when we are speaking about dealing with the political party which won the elections? How do you understand "off-beat"? This is what it means to me. I beat them with love," he noted.

Bulgaria's former Prime Minister claimed that the scenario envisaged his arrest and murder.

He vowed to inform leaders of the European People's Party (EPP) at the June 20 summit in Vienna about the events taking place n Bulgaria and about the "plot" on his life.
