Bulgaria’s New PM Appoints 17 Deputy Ministers

Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski, whose Socialist-led government took oath of office at the end of May, has officially appointed a total of 17 Deputy Ministers.

The following appointments have been announced by the government’s press office:

Angel Velichkov – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Todor Churov – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Lyudmila Petkova – Deputy Minister of Finance
Nedjmi Ali – Deputy Defense Minister
Ivan Ivanov – Deputy Defense Minister
Anna Yaneva – Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy
Lazar Lazarov – Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
Svetlana Dyankova - Deputy-Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
Rositsa Yankova - Deputy-Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
Byurhan Abazov - Deputy-Minister of Agriculture and Foods
Chavdar Georgiev – Deputy Minister of Environment and Water
Boyko Penkov – Deputy Health Minister
Chavdar Slavov – Deputy Health Minister
Mukaddes Nalbant – Deputy Education Minister
Velislava Krasteva – Deputy Culture Minister
Vasil Vasilev – Deputy Culture Minister ‘
Maya Todorova – Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports

Several other Deputy Ministers – including those of Internal Affairs, Regional Development and Justice – are expected to be announced by Monday, according to local media.
