Bulgaria's Oryahovo Ferry Cuts Fares over Danube Bridge 2 Opening

Prices of tickets for the Oryahovo - Bechet ferry will drop by an average 20% on both the Bulgarian and the Romanian sides, according to Dobri Radev, CEO of Feryrboat Oryahovo.

Radev, as cited by the Focus news agency, made clear Tuesday that the new fares would take effect at midnight on June 15, adding that theofficial launch of Danube Bridge 2 connecting Bulgaria's Vidin to Romania's Kalafat was scheduled for June 14.

The new fees for the ferry line are, as follows: cars - EUR 17, vans - EUR 36, buses and trucks- EUR 40 and TIR trucks - EUR 79.

The fee for crossing Danube Bridge 2 by car or van seating up to nine passengers will be EUR 6, while trucks will have to pay up to EUR 37, depending on their size and weight.

According to the reports of dnevnik.bg, based on data of the Bulgarian River Shipping company, the fees for the Vidin – Kalafat ferry line and the Nikopol – Turnu Magurele ferry line are higher, with TIR trucks paying EUR 92 and EUR 85, respectively, trucks and buses - EUR 58 and EUR 54, respectively, and cars - EUR 23 and EUR 12, respectively.
