Evgenia Haritonova, Chair of Bulgaria's State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (DKEVR), has resigned from the post.

According to reports of private TV station bTV based on sources close to the matter, the government is discussing a new panel of the watchdog.

The resignation was confirmed by DKEVR.

Prime Minister Plamen Oreshrski is expected to give a press conference at the Council of Ministers shortly, announcing details on Haritanova’s resignation.

Haritonova’s resignation means that the new electricity tariffs will be decided by a new DKEVR Chair.
