Bulgaria's Tonev Hints of Celtic Move

Bulgaria international winger Aleksandar Tonev is close to a deal with Scottish side Celtic, according to reports.

Even though a number of clubs, including Lazio, Fiorentina and Malaga, are said to be interested in the 23-year-old, Tonev has spoken openly about his desire to move to Parkhead.

“It’s important I consistently play Champions League football, Celtic is somewhere I could achieve that,” he said, as cited by Daily Record.

Tonev’s agent Terence Chongwa confirmed the story, adding: “There is definite interest in Scotland. We can confirm scouts of Celtic have been to our games this season.

“We are holding a meeting tomorrow and Aleksandar’s position could become clearer then.”
Reports say that Tonev may also be tempted to move to German side Werder Bremen.
