Ivan Danov is the new nominee for Minister of Investment Planning in the government formed with the mandate of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, after Kalin Tihov withdrew from the panel amid public outcry and accusations of involvement in scandalous deals concerning construction in protected areas.

Architect Danov is a professor at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) of Sofia and boasts an extensive academic career and professional practice. He is the head of the "Public Buildings" department at the UACEG and teaches "Introduction to residential design."
