The turbo generator of unit six of Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant, the Kozloduy NPP, was disconnected from the power grid Tuesday morning to fix a minor technical problem.

The facility was disconnected from the power grid at 1.50 am on Tuesday, according to reports of the press office of the Kozloduy NPP.

The planned shutdown was coordinated with the Electricity System Operator (ESO).

Following repair works, the turbo generator was switched on at 8.58 am on Tuesday.

During the repair works, the capacity of the reactor of unit 6 of the N-plant was reduced to 40%.

Bulgaria's Agency for Nuclear Regulation was notified about the planned shutdown.

The temporary shutdown has not caused increased radiation rates in the area of the Kozloduy NPP and poses no danger to the public, the media statement assures.
