The best version for a government will be to have a combination between people with management experience and people with parliamentary experience, according to Bulgaria's most likely next Prime Minister, Plamen Oresharski.
Oresharski spoke Thursday during negotiations and consultations for forming the country's next government after the May 12 early general elections between the ethnic Turkish party Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, and the left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, and their respective leaders, Lyutvi Mestan and Sergey Stanishev.
Oresharski, who is a former Finance Minister, was nominated by BSP for PM.
"I have thought a lot recently about the future Cabinet and its members. At the University, where I teach, there are many experts, but most of them do not have the needed administrative, management, and parliamentary experience," Oresharski explained.
He listed as top priorities before the new government: resurrecting the State and its institutions, solidarity and social justice, and encouraging entrepreneurship.
Mestan and DPS stated they did not see any reason for serious disagreements with the Socialists.
According to Mestan, there was no way to form a purely expert Cabinet without known political figures.
BSP and DPS, who finished second and third in Bulgaria's inconclusive early elections, have pledged to form the new government next Tuesday, indicating that the impasse since May 12 vote may soon be broken.
Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev launched consultations on forming the new government with parliamentary represented parties on Thursday, May 23.
Bulgaria's formerly ruling center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party, which gained most votes in the recent elections, but not enough to form a cabinet, returned the mandate immediately.
BSP is to receive the mandate at about 3:30 pm Thursday.
