A new spell of hot spring weather has brought temperatures in the 30s in Bulgaria, breaking two temperature records Sunday.

The two new records set were in Sandanski, where the emperature reached 32.7 degrees Celsius, and Plovdiv - 31.4 C.

Weather was hot throughout Bulgaria's north-west and south-west, reports Bulgaria's national weather service.

Some areas experienced rainstroms with lighting, the warm weather notwithstanding.

Highs Monday are expected to be in the range 28-33 C across the country, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.

Clouds with precipitation are again expected to set in during the afternoon.
