The four remaining days of election campaigning will be crucial for the outcome of Bulgaria’s upcoming Parliament vote on Sunday, according to local pollsters.

With a growing number of voters saying they are undecided, unpredictable developments may occur, Lidiya Yordanova, Director of the National Center for Study of Public Opinion (NCIOM), has told reporters.

The number of people declaring that they would not go to the ballots is also rising, according to the pollster.

Yordanova described the election campaign as “very difficult, very tense and very negative.”

She told the Bulgarian National Radio that young and well educated people living in the capital and other big cities appear reluctant to vote.

Four parties are certain to enter Bulgaria’s next Parliament, with one or two more still standing a chance, according to Yordanova.

The center-right GERB government of former PM Boyko Borisov resigned amid massive protests against corruption and poverty in February, prompting President Rosen Plevneliev to adjourn the Parliament, appoint a caretaker Cabinet and schedule snap elections for May 12.
GERB has a slight edge over the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party, according to polls.
