Main Bulgaria-Turkey Checkpoint Stricken with Mosquito Plague

Clouds of mosquitos have flooded the town of Kapitan Andreevo in south eastern Bulgaria, near which is located the largest crossing point to neighboring Turkey.

Local residents and border officers have alerted the authorities in nearby town of Svilengrad and the larger Haskovo region, reports bTV.

"This is literal - clouds of mosquitos appear in the evenings," said a local resident.

Municipal authorities in Svilengrad have promised to spray the area with anti insect chemicals on Tuesday night, after the end of holidays.
