Former Bulgarian Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, has purchased twelve vehicles with wiretapping equipment in less than a year.

The Bulgarian Standard daily and the BGNES news agency reported Saturday that 9 of the vans have been given to the police's technical directorate SDOTO dealing with special surveillance devices, SRS, and to the State Agency for National Security, DANS.

The other three wend to the Border Police in Dragoman on the Bulgarian-Serbian border.

Five of the vehicles have been donated through the Interior Ministry's company "Multiplex Networks."

They are equipped with US-made Motorola technology with Israeli software.

One of them is the notorious Chrysler Voyager which was seized by the Prosecutor's Office for their probe in the anonymous tipoff of mass illegal spying on senior politicians, wealthy businessmen, and journalists, submitted by the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, and former PM, Sergey Stanishev.
