Who is piling up benefits from the ‘watergate' scandal that sent – yet again, but stronger than ever - shockwaves in Bulgaria on Friday?

This is the question that every reasonable Bulgarian faced on Friday after media published a scandalous special surveillance devices recordings, including a conversation between former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, former Agriculture Minister, Miroslav Naydenov, and Sofia City Prosecutor, Nikolay Kokinov.

The flood of news is so dirty that one feels the sudden urge to hit the road and escape somewhere, anywhere, into a better world.

Still one question remains hanging in the air. Who is piling up benefits from the ‘watergate' scandal?

The audience suspects that both former Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov and his party’s most fierce rival, the Socialists, profit from the scandals.

The first one reaffirms his unbeatable status as the closest aide of Boyko Borisov. The second discredits Borisov’s party – slowly, but surely – and gains electoral support.

Voters will have the final say. And certainly, most of them, are disgusted by what they see happening before their eyes.

And they will strike back.
