The two suspects in the deadly marathon bombing had such a large cache of weapons that they were probably planning other attacks, according to a police official.

Authorities found many unexploded homemade bombs at the scene of the suspects’ gun battle early on Friday with police, along with more than 250 rounds of ammunition.

"We have reason to believe, based upon the evidence that was found at that scene - the explosions, the explosive ordnance that was unexploded and the firepower that they had - that they were going to attack other individuals," Boston police commissioner Ed Davis has tpld CBS.

19-year-old suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is currently hospitalized due to serious wounds. He is conscious and responding in writing to authorities, according to the latest reports.

Dzhokhar and his elder brother Tamerlan are suspected of perpetrating the bombing of the Boston marathon last week, which killed 3 people and injured 176.
