Teams of federal and local law enforcement agents searched an apparently vacant fifth floor apartment on Ocean Avenue in the Boston suburb of Revere just hours after a deadly bomb attack killed at least three people at the Boston Marathon.

Though law enforcement agencies have not confirmed the action was related to Monday’s bombing, a law student living in the apartment complex has told ABC News that an agent from the ATF told him they were responding to a tip “concerning the incident at the Boston Marathon.”

Officials had no comment when asked by reporters what was happening.

The Boston Herald informs that the Boston Police Crime Scene Response unit which collects evidence following major crimes arrived and two members of that unit took several brown paper bags, normally used to store evidence taken from the scene, into the building.

The FBI has said that they were looking at a "potential terrorist investigation," but it's not clear whether the origin was domestic or foreign. However, President, Barack Obama, has been more cautious in speaking of terrorism, stating in a TV address: "we will find out who did this" and that those responsible would feel the "full weight of justice."
