After experiencing problems for over a month due to low consumption, Bulgaria's power grid faces a new crisis during the upcoming Easter holidays.

Despite the exceptionally low loads registered by the Electricity System Operator (ESO) recently, the grid is to hit a new bottom on May 1-6.

According to ESO forecasts, the lowest loads for the entire 2013 are expected in the period May 1-6.

The large number of non-working days in a row is expected to lead to a substantial decline in electricity consumption as many offices and enterprises close for the Easter holidays.

Apart from that, many Bulgarians are expected to spend the holidays abroad, according to reports of Standard daily.

Fortunately, , unit 5 of the Kolzoduy NPP will not function during the Easter holidays as the capacity will be switched off on April 22 for a planned annual overhaul expected to last around one month.

The temporary disconnection of unit 5 of the N-plant will offload the network by around 1000 MW.
