Political lobbyism is very easy to catch and expose, says leading Bulgarian PR expert Maxim Behar.

Speaking in an interview for Nova TV Sunday, Behar explained the work of Members of the Parliament is such that it makes lobbying quite evident, giving as example opposing the full smoking ban in the country.

The PR expert is of the opinion there must be a special procedure for a background check for those running for MPs to show or rule out any dependencies, anything alarming and concealed; to reveal their morals and integrity.

"Voters must know the skills, the talents of a candidate, because an active MP, without abilities, constantly speaking from the parliamentary tribune, can cause huge harm. I would vote for an individual if I am certain she or he has capacity and can do the job," Behar told the host.

According to him, despite the very large number of political parties in a small country like Bulgaria, 99% of them don't have any significant differences in platforms and ideas.

"In exception to several absurd demands such as nationalization of the power distributors, we all support the market economy and want better social security and social justice," the PR expert concluded.
