Bulgaria for Citizens party of former EU Commissioner, Meglena Kuneva, will not enter any coalitions before or after the May 12 snap general elections.

The statement was made Thursday by the party's spokesperson, Proshko Proshkov.

He also said that out of 380 applications of people from the second largest city of Plovdiv, wishing to be removed as members, 190 were forged, with many of them submitted by individuals who have never been affiliated with Bulgaria for Citizens.

The EU Commissioner's formation suspects that the formerly-ruling centrist Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party had staged the attack to tarnish the image of their strongest rival.

GERB countered they never have commented and will not comment on internal problems of other political formations.

Earlier Thursday, GERB Deputy Chairman, former Deputy Prime Minster and Interior Minister in the GERB Cabinet, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, ruled out a coalition with the socialists, the nationalists, and the ethnic Turkish party.

When asked if a coalition with Bulgaria for Citizens was on the table, Tsvetanov briefly replied: "Let's wait and see who will win seats in the Parliament."
