Kissinger: Lady Thatcher Was 'Great Friend of US'

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has said he is grieved by the death of former UK PM Margaret Thatcher Monday.

"Margaret Thatcher was a great leader and a good friend of the US," said Kissinger.

"She was a warm person however forcefully she defended her views," added the famous American statesman.

Kissinger served as US State Secretary 1973-7, and has since retained a leading role in US foreign policy.
