Center-right GERB party leader Boyko Borisov should not become Bulgaria's PM again, argued former PM and rightist Democrats for Strong Bulgaria party chair Ivan Kostov.

"Borisov failed and transformed the social crisis in Bulgaria in a political crisis," said Kostov for Darik Radio Saturday.

"I would never back a PM who for 4 years could not solve the economic crisis, and was only repeating his mantra of highways construction instead," added he.

Kostov assessed the 117 km of highway built by the Borisov cabinet as a "negligibly small effort."

He further criticized the programe of GERB for the upcoming May 12 early elections as containing chiefly very general and vague policies.

According to Kostov, the failure to negotiate a coalition among the other rightists parties ahead of the vote does not signal their demise.

Kostov however dismissed his former allies in the Blue Coalition, the Union of Democratic Forces, as pandering to Borisov and GERB, and as not being true to rightist values.
