Bulgarias Ex EU Commissioner Party Announces Elections Bid

Bulgaria for Citizens party of former EU Commissioner, Meglena Kuneva, has officially revealed the party's list leaders for the upcoming May 12 snap general elections.

Kuneva is leading two ballots – in the Danube city of Ruse and in the 23rd voting district in the capital Sofia.

Some other well-known names include former right-wing mayoral candidate on the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria, DSB, ticket, Proshko Proshkov, in the 24th voting district in Sofia; former Mayor of Pleven, Nayden Zelenogorski (formerly from the right-wing Union of Democratic Forces, UDF) in the 25th voting district in Sofia and in Pleven, and the former Education Minister in the Cabinets of the party of former Tsar Simeon Saxe-Coburg, National Movement for Stability and Prosperity, NMSP, and of the Three-Way Coalition, Daniel Valchev.

Both Kuneva and Valchev are former NMSP members.

According to the latest poll, Bulgaria for Citizens is the fifth party having chance to win seats in the next Parliament, with 3.5% of the voters at the end of March, (the threshold is 4%), down by 2.4% since the beginning of the year.
