Bulgaria's caretaker Finance Minister, Kalin Hristov, has been left without deputies at one of the key posts in the interim Cabinet.

Vladislav Goranov, who was a Deputy Finance Minister ever since the government of former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and his Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, took office in 2009, has been released from the post, leaving Hristov to mend the Ministry on his own.

Goranov was let go after it emerged that he has been included in the GERB ballots for the May 12 snap general elections in the country.

"All ministries must have deputies, otherwise, as I have noticed, some "confidents" pop up, taking over their duties," caretaker Prime Minister, Marin Raykov, is quoted saying.

Hristov has further approved unpaid leave for the Head of the National Revenue Agency, NRA, Krasimir Stefanov, as he is also running for a seat in the future Parliament on GERB's ticket.

Raykov has asked all his ministers to focus on several draft bills – for innovations, the energy sector, and professional high school education.

Borisov and his Cabinet resigned on February 21st amidst huge protests rallies against poverty, stagnation and political corruption.
