The Bulgaria for Citizens party, led by former EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva, has registered Tuesday to run at the May 12 snap general election.

The party has submitted 58 000 signatures with the Central Electoral Commission, CEC, beating the record of former Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov's Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, party, whose Cabinet resigned on February 21.

The signatures were delivered by Bulgaria for Citizens' campaign manager, Proshko Proshkov, and party secretaries, Lyudmila Elkova and Kalin Tomov.

"We are not trying to break records. We organized tens of thousands of discussions all over the country. Nearly any signature means a meeting. We saw the righteous anger. We value the most the discussions which have changed opinions and made a person believe in us. We head to the polls with the certainty sincerity generates support and we want change, better business climate, healthcare, education, and most of all – justice and rule of law," Proshkov commented.
