Feeble Earthquake Registered in SE Bulgaria

A weak earthquake of magnitude 3 on the Richter scale has been recorded Monday evening near the town of Topolovgrad in southeastern Bulgaria.

The earthquake was registered at a depth of 3 km at 7.02 pm EET.

According to the Geophysics Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the quake is normal for the Topolovgrad area.

The Institute added that since 2009, more than 1,000 earthquakes have occured in the region, with some 100 of them felt by humans.
