Lab tests have revealed that one more Bulgarian "beef" product contains a portion of horsemeat, according to the country's Food Safety Agency.

The product has been found to contain 5% horsemeat, the food safety authority says. It has been removed from retail chains.

The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has now sent a total of 75 food samples to a German lab for horsemeat DNA testing. Five of the samples have come back positive so far.

A new batch of 25 samples is to be sent to the lab by the end of March.

The EU-wide horsemeat scandal erupted in January when horsemeat was found in some beef meals and burgers in the UK and Ireland.

Since then, supermarkets across Europe have had to withdraw affected prepared meals from their shelves.
