Over 100 college and university students assembled in protest Wednesday evening at the iconic Eagles Brige junction in Bulgarian capital Sofia.

Protesters requested an update of government youth policy, as well as thorough reforms in the education system, writes the Focus Information Agency

Angel Georgiev, chair of Bulgaria's National Organization of Student Councils, called for students to form the "core" of ongoing civic protest in Bulgaria, writes OffNews.bg.

Students stated they have no affiliation to any political party and called for broad talks to be started among various civic groups at a round table.

Wednesday's protest is part of a string of rallies that have shaken Bulgaria since early February and led to the resignation of former PM Boyko Borisov's cabinet.

Early elections are previewed for May 12, and in past weeks the frequency and multitude of protests have dwindled, with discontent however still simmering.
