President: Protests Could Change Bulgaria for Better

"I would be very happy if the civic energy mustered in the streets of Bulgaria changes the country for the better," said Plevneliev.
Sunday in Vienna the Bulgarian President, together with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer and EU Regional Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn, took part in the "What hold Europe together?" discussion, part of the Debating Europe series.
Plevneliev argued that a vibrant civil society is among the most important assets of a democratic country.
"When politicians fail, citizens need to act out," said the Bulgarian President.
