Bulgaria's outgoing government has dropped or substantially reduced fees collected by the Registry Agency.

Under the amendments, the fee of BGN 1700 for the registration of a consortium or a holding is dropped, according to the press office of the outgoing government.

The provisions applicable to unicorporated partnerships or to the form of business association of the consortium will be applied for consortiums.

The holding is a joint-stock company, a partnership limited by shares, or a limited liability company set up to enable participation in other companies or their management without conducting manufacturing or business activities of its own.

The inspection which is conducted upon the registration of a holding/consortium coincides with the inspection required for the registration of the company whose form of business organization the holding/consortium has.

In order to avoid discriminatory treatment of national and EU Companies (Societas Europaea (SEs)), some fees collected for SEs have been substantially reduced while others have been abolished altogether.

The fees for applications submitted electronically have been halved.

The amendments are to terminate infringement proceedings of the EC against Bulgaria.
