The International Women's Club in the Bulgarian capital Sofia has launched a campaign for allocating charity funding for 2013, the NGO announced.

The IWC Sofia raised the charity funding amounting to over BGN 300 000 during its annual Christmas Charity Bazaar held at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia.

The charity projects that will receive IWC funding include a soup kitchen for impoverished persons during the winter months as well as scholarships for gifted orphans in high school or university.

The International Women's Club in Sofia also provides additional care for children in orphanages or children with severe health problems; the NGO also sponsors projects for prevention of violence against women and children, and for the social integration of orphans once they leave the orphanages they grew up in.

As part of its social charity program the IWC has donated BGN 45 000 to the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation for its "Ready for Success" Scholarship Program, which is BGN 15 000 than it donated last year.

Another BGN 50 000 have been donated to the BNP Paribas Foundation for a soup kitchen providing food to over 1700 people each between December and March.

In 2013, for the first time, the IWC in Sofia will fund projects of the Animus Foundation and the Hope for the Little Ones Foundation, and will continue its cooperation with the Center for Protecting Women's Rights in Healthcare for breast cancer prevention in small towns and villages in Bulgaria.

The IWC in Sofia was established in 1989, and has become one of the most respected charity organizations in Bulgaria.
