Chief Mufti Mustafa Hadzhi has become the second Bulgarian religious leader to visit Prime Minister Boyko Borisov in hospital.
Borisov, who was admitted to hospital with a hypertensive crisis for a second time in one week on Sunday, met with Hadzhi on Monday, according to the Bulgarian government press office.
Hadzhi wished Borisov to get well soon.
The two expressed their hopes that the interfaith dialogue will stay strong in the country.
Hadzhi recently extended congratulations to Bulgaria's newly elected Orthodox Patriarch Neofit.
Neofit visited Borisov in hospital during the latter's first hypertensive crisis last week.
On February 21, Bulgaria's Parliament approved the resignation of the government of the Prime Minister and his ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, amidst unprecedented since 1997 protest rallies against unbearable utility bills, monopolies and wide-spread poverty that turned into a civil unrest against the political model of ruling the country.
