Bulgarian UNESCO Chief to Receive Doctor Honoris Causa Degree of Laval University

UNESCO Director-General, Bulgarian Irina Bokova, will be awarded the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Laval University in Quebec, Canada.

60-year-old Bokova will visit Quebec on March 7 to hold a series of meetings on international affairs, according to reports of local media outlets as cited by the Focus news agency.

She will give a press conference on the Laval University campus before being awarded the honorary degree by the Rector of the University, Denis Briere.

Bokova became Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, in September 2009.
