Opposition Slam Resigned Vice-PM's 'Incoherent' Speech

Opposition MPs from different parties have united in criticizing Vice-PM and Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov's long speech during Thursday's debate on the cabinet resignation as rambling.

After Tsvetanov's speech, MPs from opposition parties hooted and ironically shouted "Encore! Encore!"

Rightist Blue Coalition MP Martin Dimitrov stated he was "surprised" at the incoherence of the Interior Minister's speech and the inclusion of allegedly unrelated and irrelevant details in it.

Liberal Movement of Rights and Freedoms leader Lyutvi Mestan described the speech as "the logorrhea of a political era which is fortunately coming to a close."

MPs from the Bulgarian Socialist Party slammed Tsvetanov as abusing facts and continuing to mislead the public.

According to all opposition MPs who spoke, Bulgaria's ruling GERB party and the cabinet of PM Boyko Borisov just refuse to acknowledge the substance of ongoing major protests in the country.

In his speech, Tsvetanov mentioned by name a number of opposition MPs in an effort to point to their alleged incompetence or corrupt practices, which has given them the right to speak, thus delaying the procedure for voting the cabinet resignation.

The vote will be held after the end of the debate, which is now estimated to take place after 1 pm EET.
